Director, Multicultural Marketing - NASCAR (Daytona Beach, FL)

NASCAR seeks a talented professional to join the Marketing group in the position of Director, Multicultural Marketing based in our Daytona Beach office.

The Director, Multicultural Marketing is responsible for the assessment, business plan development, and the execution of targeted initiatives within the multicultural area.

Duties include but are not limited to:
Responsible for the development of a comprehensive go-to-market strategy to grow NASCAR’s multicultural fan base with an emphasis on the Hispanic segment.

This strategy should include:

o Target audience identification, insights and prioritization
o Positioning, key messaging and brand identity development
o Communications approach leveraging all appropriate channels
o Event strategy and at-track experiential plan
o Partner integration and activation
o Budget and timing

Serve as lead brand steward/center of expertise and key interface on all marketing efforts in the multicultural community and NASCAR ecosystem.

Cultivate and manage partnerships on behalf of NASCAR with key constituents (e.g. broadcast partners, sponsors, teams, tracks) to develop and grow the multicultural fan base.

Create short and long term marketing plans to grow the sport’s fan base in the multicultural segment.

Provide recaps of all events and marketing programs to senior management, including metrics of success and key learnings

Oversee all Hispanic advertising creative and transcreation of general market creative, working with Brand Marketing and NASCAR’s AOR.

Percentage of travel: 20% including some weekends

Required skills/experience:

• Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university (MBA preferred) and ten (10) to twelve (12) years of related experience and/or training in the area of multicultural marketing; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Fluent in Spanish and has a deep understanding into the Hispanic culture
• Proven skills working across departments and with industry stakeholders, strong collaboration, presentation, problem solving and influencing skills
• Solid presentation skills
• Demonstrated experience in multicultural marketing, including the Hispanic segment
• Experience in target, niche or segment marketing
• Demonstrated success in managing projects from beginning to end

Administration/General Management: Administrative/Executive Assistant
Executive Assistant, Public Affairs and Multicultural Development - NASCAR (Daytona Beach, FL)

NASCAR is looking for a talented professional to join our Public Affairs and Diversity Affairs departments in the position of Executive Assistant based in the new state of the art building in Daytona Beach. The Executive Assistant will schedule appointments, give information to callers, take dictation, write/send letters, faxes and emails and otherwise relieve the Vice President, Public Affairs and Multicultural Development of clerical work and administrative and business detail by performing the following duties.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Prepare merge letters and all correspondence relating to the Company's Public Affairs and Diversity initiatives.
  • Plan and organize all departmental meetings.
  • Work with Special Activities to plan and coordinate any Public Affairs and Diversity related meetings and one yearly Diversity Internship Program Orientation session.
  • Schedule meetings, calls, and make travel arrangements for Vice President, Public Affairs and Multicultural Development.
  • Assist in the marketing of the Diversity Internship Program to Industry Partners - tracks, teams, sponsors, licensees, etc. through phone calls, emails and mailings.
  • Assist in the marketing of the Diversity Internship Program to Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) and Hispanic Service Institutions (HSIs) through email, mailings, phone calls and on-site campus visits along with Manager of Diversity Affairs.
  • Help coordinate the NASCAR College Tour as visits are made to HBCUs and HSIs to raise awareness of the careers available throughout the motorsports industry. Attend visits as requested.
  • Review proposals from Minority groups asking for support, and make recommendations to Supervisor.
  • Conduct research on other sports' diversity initiatives (marketing, employment, supplier diversity, training, community relations).
  • Open mail.
  • File documents and organize project files. Oversee document retention and archiving.
  • Make photocopies, fax documents and bind presentations.
  • Answer phone for Supervisor when on other line or out of the office.
  • Travel to attend meetings, including semiannual Diversity Council Meetings, annual Diversity Internship Program Orientation session, two to four national Civil Rights Conferences, and to attend several races throughout the year to support special programs.
  • Approximate travel 25%, including weekends.

    Qualifications include the following:
  • High school diploma and three to five years of office administrative experience. Some college preferred. Three to five years of special event planning and community/public relations experience a plus.
  • Must be able to operate in fast-paced environment.
  • Must have a can do attitude and work ethic; superb written and oral communication skills; excellent organizational and time management; must have strong analytical skills and reasoning ability.
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.

Senior Manager, Multicultural Marketing - NASCAR (Daytona Beach, FL)

NASCAR is searching for a talented professional to join our team in the position of Senior Manager, Multicultural Marketing. Based in our corporate headquarters in Daytona Beach, the Manager, Multicultural Marketing is responsible for developing strategic advertising, marketing, and consumer engagement plans; the implementation of these plans, and supervise a roster of agencies that partner with NASCAR in the development and execution of such plans. Help identify and implement cultural insights that enhance NASCAR's ability to target multicultural segments - emphasizing Hispanic and African-American markets.

 

Duties include but are not limited to:

• Manage agency relationships and foster increased effectiveness between the agency and NASCAR Marketing and Multicultural Marketing efforts.

• Supervise the implementation of NASCAR's GTM plans.

• Supervise and manage media/communication planning.

• Prepare annual budget, schedule expenditures, analyze variances, and initiate corrective actions.

• Track and adjust brand support spending to achieve budgeted levels.

Required skills/experience:

• Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university with major or focus in Marketing; and a minimum of five years related experience in Multicultural Adviertising or Marketing; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Agency experience desired. Sports Marketing and/or Automotive background/experience desired.
