Managing Director, Brand and Consumer Marketing - NASCAR (Daytona Beach, FL)

NASCAR seeks a talented professional to join our Brand and Consumer Marketing team in the position of Managing Director, Brand and Consumer Marketing based in our Daytona Beach, FL office. 

The Managing Director, Brand and Consumer Marketing will serve as the primary brand steward for NASCAR setting overall brand direction, leading and implementing the annual brand plan, overseeing strategic growth plans for critical segments (youth, gen y and multicultural) and will have oversight of media planning, creative development and consumer events.

Duties include but are not limited to:
As the primary brand steward, this role is responsible for the development and execution of the annual NASCAR Marketing Plan and will coordinate with all NASCAR department heads to integrate all appropriate resources in the plan.

Oversee media strategies and media planning, including placement in print, radio, TV and digital and social media presence.

Working closely with senior management to oversee all brand identity efforts

Oversee and drive agency cultivation, agency review and agency management.

Drive Industry Action Plan strategies for growth in the Youth, Gen y and Multicultural segments.

Lead the drive for digital fan engagement ideas in conjunction with NASCAR Digital team to engage Youth, Gen y
and Multicultural segments

Provide creative leadership and direction for the development of additional branded communications needed to support the industry.

Bring to the group as a whole a transforming creative development style that will elevate NASCAR’s Brand and Consumer Marketing.

Budget management and budget allocation. 

Approximate travel required 30%, including some weekends.
Required Skills/Experience:
Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university and/or Masters (M.A.) degree; and ten to twelve years of Brand/Advertising Marketing with some Sports Marketing experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.  Experience working in the multicultural (Hispanic) marketing, Generation Y, youth and digital expertise and event/promotion experience is preferred.

Must have good knowledge of (or demonstrate the ability to quickly learn) consumer marketing, the motorsports industry, directing agencies, interacting with customers, problem solving, marketing planning, etc.

The successful candidate will have a proven track record of transforming Brand and Consumer Marketing within a large dynamic brand to reach new and different segments in complex environments where communicating and influencing leaders in diverse geographies has been required.

Understand Brand and Consumer Marketing and be able to creatively reach Youth, Gen-Y and Multicultural audiences through consumer technology trends including, mobile, tablet, desktop, connected devices, etc.

Understanding of the Youth, Gen-Y and Multicultural segments and able to bring strategies to transform our Marketing efforts, including working with various internal groups, our agencies and partners, large sponsors, all with the ability to guide NASCAR through their knowledge of past successes, and failures.

NASCAR seeks an experienced brand marketing leader, who is prepared to take NASCAR to a leadership position among all sports properties in the discipline. Experience working with sports and entertainment properties is strongly desired. The leader in this position will be expected to stay on top of the latest trends and be both familiar and active with the brand and consumer marketing space and how new marketing efforts can ensure NASCAR remains an innovator.

Director, Multicultural Marketing - NASCAR (Daytona Beach, FL)

NASCAR seeks a talented professional to join the Marketing group in the position of Director, Multicultural Marketing based in our Daytona Beach office.

The Director, Multicultural Marketing is responsible for the assessment, business plan development, and the execution of targeted initiatives within the multicultural area.

Duties include but are not limited to:
Responsible for the development of a comprehensive go-to-market strategy to grow NASCAR’s multicultural fan base with an emphasis on the Hispanic segment.

This strategy should include:

o Target audience identification, insights and prioritization
o Positioning, key messaging and brand identity development
o Communications approach leveraging all appropriate channels
o Event strategy and at-track experiential plan
o Partner integration and activation
o Budget and timing

Serve as lead brand steward/center of expertise and key interface on all marketing efforts in the multicultural community and NASCAR ecosystem.

Cultivate and manage partnerships on behalf of NASCAR with key constituents (e.g. broadcast partners, sponsors, teams, tracks) to develop and grow the multicultural fan base.

Create short and long term marketing plans to grow the sport’s fan base in the multicultural segment.

Provide recaps of all events and marketing programs to senior management, including metrics of success and key learnings

Oversee all Hispanic advertising creative and transcreation of general market creative, working with Brand Marketing and NASCAR’s AOR.

Percentage of travel: 20% including some weekends

Required skills/experience:

• Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university (MBA preferred) and ten (10) to twelve (12) years of related experience and/or training in the area of multicultural marketing; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Fluent in Spanish and has a deep understanding into the Hispanic culture
• Proven skills working across departments and with industry stakeholders, strong collaboration, presentation, problem solving and influencing skills
• Solid presentation skills
• Demonstrated experience in multicultural marketing, including the Hispanic segment
• Experience in target, niche or segment marketing
• Demonstrated success in managing projects from beginning to end

Manager, Sponsorship Research - NASCAR (Charlotte, NC)

NASCAR seeks a talented professional to join the Market & Media Research team in the position of Manager, Sponsorship Research based in our Charlotte office.

The Manager, Sponsorship Research leads initiatives pertaining to sponsorship research.  The candidate will have experience in market research tracking to support various sponsorship-related objectives, including sponsorship sales, optimization, communication, and renewals. The position collaborates with other members of the research team and communicates with key stakeholders. 

Duties include but are not limited to:
CONSULTANT:  Serve as market research consultant for internal departments and external partners seeking to make informed business decisions related to sponsorship.   

PROJECT MANAGEMENT:  Manage multiple market research projects simultaneously to assist in sponsorship-related business areas.

RESEARCH ANALYTICS AND PARTNERSHIPS:  Utilize traditional and evolving market research practices and analytics to gauge and optimize sponsorship effectiveness, including qualitative and quantitative research approaches to address return on objectives, return on investment, and other key metrics of sponsorship performance.  Establish relationships with third party sponsorship research firms and discover innovative ways to measure effectiveness of various sponsorship initiatives. 

SYNDICATED RESEARCH:  Use syndicated research tools to provide consumer behavior insights relevant to category usage and brand preference, as well as provide insights into perceptions of major brands and star athletes.

CUSTOM RESEARCH:  Design custom research studies.  Create screeners and discussion guides for qualitative studies, and develop surveys and analyze data for quantitative studies.

COLLABORATION:  Work with other members of the Market & Media Research team to provide comprehensive responses in fulfilling requests.

Approximate travel 20% including weekends.

Required skills/experience:

• Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university; and five years’ experience and/or training in Marketing, Market Research or Managing Sponsorships; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Understanding of Simmons National Consumer Survey and Scarborough Research is a plus.
• Must have personal and professional interest in sports/sports marketing.
• Basic understanding of motorsports is also a plus.

Manager, Event Marketing - NASCAR (Daytona Beach, FL)

NASCAR is looking for a dynamic marketing professional who will be responsible for developing and executing large and small scale, consumer-focused events for the purpose of engaging new and existing fans with the NASCAR brand.

The ideal candidate will manage budgets, agencies and staff. Work closely with all NASCAR departments to leverage and integrate industry assets in ways that meet both NASCAR and sponsor interests. Measure and report results. Manage all aspects of event marketing, including strategic planning, marketing/media planning, creative development, hospitality, talent support and procurement, on-site optics and operations, and formal recap to the industry. Strategically tie event marketing initiatives to key NASCAR goals, targets and Seasons.


Duties include, but are not limited to:
 

  • Develop and implement an annual event marketing plan that leverages NASCAR and industry resources and supports key NASCAR strategies.
  • Secure and direct staff and agency efforts.
  • Develop and manage event marketing budget.
  • Measure and report results.

Approximate travel required is 10-20%, including weekends.

A Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent is preferred with at least seven years related experience in event marketing; must be well organized, detail oriented and have the ability to manage multiple projects concurrently; the ideal candidate is a results driven, strategic thinker with excellent written and verbal communication skills; Motorsports and/or agency experience is a plus.

NASCAR is looking for a talented professional to join our team in the position of Senior Coordinator, Marketing. Based in our new office in Charlotte, this position will be responsible for editing and writing editorial content for The NASCAR Foundation’s website, newsletters and social media. This position is responsible for posting and updating content. The position requires a person who can handle multiple daily requests from internal and external partners to provide high quality content that is current and creative.

Duties include but are not limited to:
• Responsible for developing and creating all original, creative, editorial elements that reach the consumer, including but not limited to news stories and feature articles.
• Must have applied knowledge of client server and web technologies and/or system integrations.
• Must have advanced writing and editing skills for editorial and web production
• Responsible for development of communications calendar and reaching all social media deadlines, including day-to-day social media postings and activities in Foundation and Unites accounts, including Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, Instagram.
• Manage workflow and create packages ahead of time to be posted as news becomes relevant.

Required skills/experience:
