Manager, Stakeholder Communications - NASCAR (Daytona Beach, FL)

NASCAR seeks a talented professional to join Integrated Marketing Communications in the position of Manager, Stakeholder Communications based in our Daytona Beach or Charlotte office.
 

Stakeholder Communications within NASCAR’s Integrated Marketing Communications department plays a critical role as liaison to the NASCAR industry. The group works alongside, in collaboration, with the marketing and communications teams at various entities throughout the industry, including race teams and the track operators.

Duties include but are not limited to:
• The manager of stakeholder communications will work closely year-round with communications professionals at major race tracks and race teams to support and enhance their marketing communications efforts to promote drivers, teams, sponsor initiatives and NASCAR events.

• This position will join its Stakeholder Communications colleagues in playing the role as communications conduit to a specific list of tracks and teams on important and time-relevant information such as current events, promotions, driver communications, NASCAR marketing information, etc. Additionally, this position will operate as a strategic counselor for industry stakeholders as it relates to the communications function.

• This manager will work collaboratively with IMC counterparts and across all NASCAR departments – most notably with colleagues in Track Marketing Services, Driver Services and Team Services – to identify and strategically mobilize NASCAR resources to support key promotional initiatives of NASCAR stakeholders.

• This position will also work closely with professionals in NASCAR Market and Media Research and the NASCAR Fan & Media Engagement Center to identify and rationalize valuable information for industry stakeholders.

• Manager, Stakeholder Communications also will serve as project lead of multiple IMC-driven events.

• Approximate travel 25% (local and out-of-town).


Required skills/experience:

• Bachelor's degree (B.A.) from four (4) year college or university and four (4) to seven (7) years of current experience in communication, marketing or related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience.  Master’s degree a plus.

• This individual must be a business-minded strategic thinker adept at bringing various parties together to achieve a common goal.  The successful candidate will be someone who is naturally collaborative with a proven ability to create and execute strategy working with an internal team and leaders at other organizations.

• This individual will have excellent written and oral communication skills and be equally comfortable ‘in the garage’ and a boardroom. This leader must be highly-organized, creative, trustworthy, resourceful and have the unquestioned ability to process information quickly, make decisions and move to action in a high-paced environment.

• Ideally, the candidate will bring varied experience that includes work in creative settings, media relations departments, event promotion and comparable experience in other professional or top-tier collegiate sports. Prior experience in navigating complex business environments, managing large teams and working in an integrated marketing communications setting is highly desired.

Manager, Broadcasting - Entertainment Communications - NASCAR (Charlotte, NC)

NASCAR seeks a talented professional to join Integrated Marketing Communications in the position of Manager, Broadcasting / Entertainment Communications based in our Charlotte office.
 

This position will be responsible for supporting the strategic development and execution of communications and media relations plans for NASCAR's four (4) main media divisions - NASCAR Productions, NASCAR Digital, NASCAR Broadcasting and NASCAR Entertainment.  Primary focus will be to act as a communications consultant guiding NASCAR’s media divisions through high-profile announcements, unveils, releases and other public-facing events and projects.

Duties include but are not limited to:
• Support Integrated Marketing Communications (IMC) Director of Broadcasting / Entertainment with strategic communications support and counsel of four (4) media -focused business units - NASCAR Productions, NASCAR Digital, NASCAR Broadcasting and NASCAR Entertainment.

• Build and execute strategic national and trade media outreach plans across all four (4) units.

• Create and execute innovative programs that strategically help NASCAR's business achieve its objectives.

• Develop deep working relationships with key influencers in the sports, digital and entertainment media worlds.

• Identify visibility opportunities for NASCAR's key executives and prepare them for those opportunities.

• Quantitatively and qualitatively measure and analyze the return on investment of various IMC-driven programs and initiatives.

• Mine for stories and turn business challenges / opportunities into comprehensive communications plans with a set of actions attached to them.

• Lead projects / programs while navigating the complex NASCAR industry.

• Write clearly and concisely, turning difficult programs / intricate topics into compelling pitch or relevant communique.

• Approximate travel:  20% including weekend travel.


Required skills/experience:

• Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university and a minimum of five (5) years of related experience and/or training in strategic communications, public relations and/or media; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

• Strong experience in pitching and placing stories and influencing coverage across all media preferred.

• Robust set of media contacts in sports, entertainment and digital media preferred.

• High level interest and experience in using various digital and social media platforms.

• Business writing acumen.

Manager, Diversity Affairs - NASCAR (Daytona Beach, FL)

We are looking for a Manager to join the Diversity Affairs Department in our Daytona Beach Headquarters. This position is responsible for managing NASCAR's multi-cultural outreach initiatives.

Duties include but are not limited to:

Manages NASCAR's diversity and inclusion outreach initiatives.

Serves as liaison for driver, pit crew and karting development programs

Develop schedule and activation of at- track & off-track activation

Evaluate existing diversity initiatives and recommend "re-tooling" as appropriate.

Participate at professional conferences/meetings on behalf of NASCAR

Annually develop long-term programs that will:
- Broaden the demographics of NASCAR fans
- Expose diverse people to the NASCAR industry
- Expose diverse people to the numerous career opportunities throughout the NASCAR industry.
- Integrate diversity into all aspects of the NASCAR industry.
- Involve diverse target markets.

Create an annual evaluation process to measure the overall effectiveness of the initiative.

Manage departmental duties:
- Evaluate and respond efficiently to all diversity requests
- Provide regular written updates to all appropriate executives.

Approximate travel required: 35% including weekends.

Required skills/experience:

Bachelor's degree (B.A.) from four-year college or university; and seven years related experience and/or training in developing and managing multicultural outreach programs; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Familiarity with notable national diversity organizations and their resources.

Manager, Competition Communications - NASCAR (Daytona Beach, FL)

NASCAR is searching for a talented professional to join our team in the position of Manager, Competition Communications. Based at our premier new headquarters in Daytona Beach, the Manager, Competition Communications will be responsible for supporting the strategic development and execution of communications and media relations plans centered on NASCAR Competition. We are looking for a versatile Communications executive capable of pitching and securing coverage on NASCAR in non-traditional outlets (lifestyle, business, technology, etc.).

Duties include but are not limited to:

  • Foster media relationships with key outlets beyond the normal scope for NASCAR; pitch and place stories with these outlets.
  • Develop storyline ideas, mine for stories within the NASCAR industry and pursue other activities relevant to proactive media relations.
  • Integrate with key internal and external stakeholders on story development and media relations
  • Develop content calendars, research media lists, write stories and educate Integrated Marketing Communications personnel and others on Competition-related matters.
  • Host non-traditional and non-endemic media at live NASCAR events in the process of securing media coverage.
  • Support broader IMC team at key races, special events, and industry functions.
  • Track and merchandise media coverage.
     

Required skills/experience:

• Bachelor's degree (B.A.) from four-year college or university; or 5+ years public relations, Corporate Communications, Media Relations; and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Ideal candidate must have impeccable writing skills, the ability to manage multiple tasks in an extremely fast-paced environment, be extremely organized and have an eye for detail.
• 50% travel required including weekends.
